Mersad operation eternal defeat for MEK
Haider Moslehi, the Iranian Minister of Intelligence in the government of former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, confirmed on Monday that Mersad's operation which the Iranian army launched against the MEK-backed regime of Saddam Hussein, was an eternal defeat for the hypocrites (MEK).
“On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Mersad’s operations, Mersad’s operation has become an eternal defeat for the hypocrites (Mujahideen Khalq),” Moslehi said in an interview with the Iranian Tasnim news agency.
The Mersad operation was the last major military operation in the Iraq-Iran war, which occurred in the year 1988 between Iran and the MEK, in which the Iraqi Air Force supported the MEK and ended in a decisive victory for Iran.
Moslehi indicated, "Saddam Hussein deceived the hypocrites (the MEK) and also used it as a tool towards his evil goals, but the revolutionary forces and the people of our country, despite not knowing the situation, gave a great lesson to the enemies and hypocrites in a very limited time, with unity and perseverance, although they had no knowledge of the situation. "
The former Iranian minister reiterated that the Mersad operation in which the citizens dealt "a great blow to the global arrogance and hypocrites, who have never forgotten this, and certainly if the traitors think of conspiracies against Iran, the nation will stand against them."
