Dissidents from MEK in Albania demand immediate intervention because of Coronavirus outbreak
A group of defected members from the MEK addressed, on Tuesday, the Albanian Immigration Office for the need to intervene in order to save the lives of their friends in the organization's camp in Manza in light of the outbreak of the new Coronavirus, as the MEK leadership admitted the death of a large number of its members during the past few days.
A letter by the former members and defectors of the MEK, seen by the correspondent of Ashraf News in the capital, Tirana, while addressing the director of the Albanian Immigration Office, saying, "We would like to inform you that we, a group of former members of the PMOI, are concerned about the situation of our former friends who are in the PMOI. "
"In the event of infection with the Coronavirus, the organization keeps people in a closed area, which makes conditions more dangerous for the spread of this disease among people," the defectors said in their message.
They explained, "The PMOI has close relations in Albania and has all the features of a cult, and people live in this collective cult cannot access the free world and medical centers, this raises our concerns about the health of the people who live in the PMOI camp."
The defectors pointed out that "the lives of these people are in danger in the current situation due to the Coronavirus and this organization does not care about the lives of these people, and despite the prevailing conditions in the camp and the irresponsible behavior of sectarian leaders towards the lives of the members, we warn and call for the immediate intervention of the competent authorities in your country and the Albanian human rights organizations to take control in order to save the people's lives.
